Transfer your domain away from Hover

The following tasks need to be completed before a domain can be transferred:

1. Domain privacy needs to be disabled.
2. The administrative email contact needs to be up-to-date.
3. The domain needs to be unlocked.
4. You will need your domain's transfer authorization code.

Please complete the following steps to transfer your domain away from Hover:

1. Log into your Hover account online at https://www.hover.com/login.
2. If privacy is enabled, there will be a check next to the domain name, as pictured below:
3. Mouseover the domain to be transferred and click on the privacy link to disable privacy.
4. Click Yes to turn off privacy.
5. Next, ensure that you have to correct administrative contact email address so you can receive transfer approval email messages.  Mouseover the domain and click on the registry contacts link.
6. Select Registry Record: Admin from the drop-down list, update your email address as required, and then click on Save.
7. Mouseover the domain name and click on the unlock link.
8. Click Yes to unlock your domain name.
9. Lock and Privacy will be unchecked now.
10. Mouseover your domain and click on the auth code link.
11. Record the Authorization Code in the text box, or click Copy to record it to your computer's clipboard so you can paste it later.
12. Next, contact the registration service provider that you want to transfer your domain to and ask them to initiate the domain transfer.
13. Shortly after initiating the transfer you will receive an email, like the one pictured below, asking you to approve the transfer.  Completing the approval will expedite your transfer by bypassing the 5 day hold period.  Click on the link in the email to approve or cancel your transfer.
14. Select the checkbox to accept the transfer then click Submit.
15. A confirmation message will be displayed.  Please allow a few days for the transfer to complete and for your new registrar to setup your services.
    
    

Transfer Multiple Domains

If you need to transfer out multiple domain names, then you can use our bulk domain management tools to change privacy, lock, domain contacts, and set the authorization code for multiple domains.  To make changes to multiple domain names, put a check next to each domain, choose the appropriate option from the drop down list, and then click on the Bulk Edit button.

The Next Steps: Transfer the domain name to Maine Hosting Solutions by emailing the Auth Code to domreg@mainehost.com.  Once the transfer has been initiated you will receive an email authorizing the transfer, which you must accept in order for the transfer to proceed.  You will need to click on the link 2/3 down the email to accept the transfer.   It usually takes 5 - 7 business days to complete.
