Updating your A Record at GoDaddy is essential when pointing your domain to a new server or IP address. Here's a quick and easy guide to help you do it:

⚙️ Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log in to GoDaddy
Go to https://www.godaddy.com and log in with your credentials.

2. Access Domain Settings
Click your name in the top-right corner, then select "My Products". Find your domain under the Domains section and click on it.

3. Manage DNS
In the domain dashboard, scroll down and click "Manage DNS" to open the DNS Management page.

4. Locate the A Record
In the DNS Records list, find the A Record with the Name set to "@". This is the record for your root domain (e.g., example.com).

5. Edit the A Record
Click the edit (pencil) icon next to this record.

  • Update the Points to field with your new IP address.

  • Leave the Name field as "@".

  • (Optional) Adjust the TTL value or leave it at default.

  • Click Save.

6. Allow for DNS Propagation
It may take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours for the DNS changes to fully propagate across the internet.

ℹ️ Additional Tips

  • Always double-check the IP address you're pointing to.

  • Avoid deleting any existing records unless you're sure they're unnecessary.

  • If you're unsure, back up your current DNS settings before making changes.

Now your A Record at GoDaddy should be updated and pointing to your new server!
