Here’s a step-by-step guide to set up a YouTube account from scratch.
1️⃣ Have a Google Account
YouTube is owned by Google, so you need a Google account.

If you already use Gmail, Google Drive, or Android — you already have one.

If not, create one:

Fill in your name, email, and password.

Follow the verification steps.
2️⃣ Sign In to YouTube

Visit youtube.com.

Click Sign in (top right).

Log in with your Google account.
3️⃣ Create Your YouTube Channel
By default, signing in lets you watch, like, and subscribe — but to upload videos, you need a channel.

Personal Channel:

Click your profile picture (top right).

Select Create a channel.

Confirm your name and upload a profile picture.

Brand Channel (good for businesses or multiple managers):

5️⃣ Verify Your Account
This unlocks features like custom thumbnails and longer uploads.

Choose text or call verification.

6️⃣ Adjust Settings
